"Come back here Rita. You come back here so we can talk right now." Bill said.
Rita wasn't going to budge until she knew that it was safe. He would kill her and she knew if he could have caught her when she ran, then she would already be dead.
She felt that she lay in that ditch for hours but it was truthfully only a few minutes before she saw headlights and a car pull out of her mothers driveway. Her legs were shaking from the cold and her teeth were chattering uncontrollably. Rita, waited till she saw no more movement from the house before she ran across the field towards her neighbors house which was two miles away.
