Becoming obsessed with your writing
Feel free to obsess over your characters to the point where you start to worry that it's unhealthy.

April 29, 2010. What do you think about when writing your page? Here are a few ideas that we have come up with for making your writing a consuming obsession that brings forth in you all the most delicious emotions:

Think about how each page has the responsibility to make the reader want to read the next page, and don't hesitate to dispense with the backstory and jump right into the important stuff. When you do this, pat yourself on the back.

Anticipate what will happen in your story and daydream about it the way you might daydream about what might happen in a book you're reading.

Just write. You can always edit it later.

Try something unusual. Don't hesitate to break the rules or to make something very sudden and unexpected happen in your story.

Feel free to obsess over your characters to the point where you start to worry that it's unhealthy.

Please send us any other fun things you do to keep the words flowing. Just email us or submit via the Feedback link on the left side of the page (these are anonymous so include your email if you would like a response back).

Thanks again to all those who are enjoying One Page Per Day. And don't forget to check out the glimpses and show a little love by requesting another page if you are intrigued by someone's work!
